This is City (WF Maximum Velocity) on the left and Ari (WF Airs Above Ground) as yearlings. City was an Arabian/Morocco Spotted Horse cross, Ari a Lippizan/Arabian cross. My trainer at the time had a Lipizzaner stallion I bred to one of my mares, resulting in a absolutely wonderful horse. City became a really good saddle-horse for an acquaintance of mine. I kept Ari for myself. He was a talented and steady boy. Lipps are born black and turn white over time. Ari never whitened entirely but became a light dappled grey. Every-once-in-awhile they remain black. Ari was a dressage horse and one of my steady trail horses.
We have rain which will result in about 2". We need it. It's not getting out of the 60s today, which would be perfect working outside weather except....it's raining.
I had the air conditioner on yesterday which allowed me to make bread and a wild plum crisp. The crisp would have benefited from a bit more sugar so I guess we wll need to have it ala mode. Darn.
Dinner was a simple ravioli in a pesto/cream sauce. I have enough for another meal. I always welcome leftovers.
I agree wholeheartedly with this sentiment and with the dog chosen as the image. I've owned three greyhounds and you can see the soul in their eyes. Wonderful dogs.

I used to have a couple of greyhounds in my petcare practice. They were so elegant I felt shabby out walking with them.
Horses to me have an elegance, too. Gorgeous!
Love the soul thoughts--lol!
Murphy's Law--when it's cool enough to work outside it is raining--lol!
They are also big goofs and marvelous couch potatoes, Boud!
That meme, truth. Your ravioli looks delicious.
Murphy's Law, Rita. Yep.
Thank you, Pixie.
Thank you so much for the beautiful post, food, horse, dog. The dog and I agree about most people. I left a comment for you on my blog. The books are right up your street.
I post a photo of a Lipp cross and you post a book about Lipps being rescued from Nazi Germany! I have placed holds.
The sentiment about dogs and humans is true enough. There are plenty of soul-free humans out there.
Two beautiful horses and I enjoyed learning about their changing coat colors. Your meal is something that hubs and I would enjoy, and fresh homemade bread and the plum crisp. Yum! That sweet dog with the lovely saying, reminds me of the one that goes something like, the more I know of man the more I like my dog. To see an animal with a soul you have only to look into their eyes, I fully believe that. A continued happy week to you Sandra :)
Beautiful horses. Your dinner looks delicious. I love the Greyhound and agree with the statement.
It’s nice to go way back sometimes.
We also got a good rain.
I had a friend who fostered a greyhound. She was going to try to find him a good home. Apparently he thought her home was just right. Stayed with her eight years before he passed away in his sleep. He was a wonderful, warm creature who enriched her life.
The black horse is stunning.
Had a friend in California who raised Andelusian horses. They were gorgeous.
Dogs know when humans have no soul. They avoid them.
The boys playing remind me of the days I raised mule foals, they would roughhouse to beat the band.
I've discovered there are more than I realized, nick.
The genetics of coat color is interesting. Denise. The plum crisp is a bit tart! I believe that saying, too, Denise.
Thank you, Linda.
I do more than ever lately, AC!
I pleased to hear that, Dora.
Greyhounds are wonderful dogs. Believe it or not, they make good apartment dogs. They need a bit of exercise during the day and then they are content on a sofa! Ari was majestic, Ami.
This is so true, Val. I've seen it more than once. In another life I would have mules.
