Quietude

We had a quiet day. Mark got the stalls cleaned. I got dinner prepped. I did say it was a quiet day.

I had a brisket in the oven for a few hours. Yes, under the onions there is a beef brisket. The onions absorbed all of the goodness as the brisket slowly cooked. I never tire of wonderful slow-cooked winter meals.

Now another year begins. 2025 was unstable and unsettling. Will we be turning a page? Ever hopeful. We do what we can and we appreciate what we have. I appreciate all of you. May it be a good year.

I don't know when we met, whether it was just this year or a little earlier. I know it hasn't been that long compared to some. It's been good to know you and see your home and wonderful meals.

Your table looks lovely, complete with candles and good china. I like a good brisket but rarely make beef. Maybe I'll pick one up, but they're so expensive now.
Stay warm my friend.

Well, I couldn't keep 2026 out, so I let it in. I haven't even gotten a calendar for it yet.
What a beautiful place you have and meals that make my mouth water!

A light snowfall in Belfast. Unusual as we get hardly any snow normally. Yes, may 2026 be a lot better than 2025.

I used the leftover juices to make a gravy for a leftover pork roast, Miss Merry. Not bad!

I need to get out and meet some people to welcome into my home, Boud!

Back in the long ago years I had blogging friends visit, one from Denmark who has remained my friend and infrequent visitor, Cheerful. You would be welcome!

You would be so welcome, Lori.

Beef is incredibly expensive, Pixie. The candle holders were my grandma's. The china was my deceased best bud's grandmother's.

Thank you, Far Side.

Thank you, Linda. May it be a good one.

Nothing like slow cooked food, Sue!

I hope you enjoyed it, nick. It hasn't started out well, the year.

There is no bottom, is there, Val.
