A Merry Day

After a few busy days and a rest day I am back in the saddle, aka, my chair in front of the computer. We had a very nice visit with the son and DIL Saturday. They brought cheese lasagna, Italian sausages and bread, a delicious salad and........tiramisu! I love tiramisu and he remembered. We provided wine and sparkly water. It was a lovely, relaxed day. The first Christmas with family since 2018 and it was good.

Today I will try to catch up on you all and get my Monday task of laundry done. Otherwise, I am free to finish my book.

It was really a pleasant day, Lori. I was walking by there, saw the light and of course, photo!

I hope you enjoy your book. I made a list yesterday (shit I need to do) and am determined to cross at least three things off every day. So far, I am losing.

Nice to be able to spend some time with your son and not have to do the cooking! We're traveling to have Christmas with our son and his wife. Our daughter and hubby will be there, too. I won't be cooking either!!

Yes they do, Boud! Good food at that.

The things you don't think of when buying a house, such as not only cleaning the windows, Far Side, but replacing them. We needed to replace 16 windows in one room! I wasn't liking them so much then.

It was a good day, Rita. Gatto kept us entertained.

Hurrah for you, Ami! When I set goals for myself, the only time it works is when I'm on a tight schedule. Somehow I seem to thrive on tension. Until I don't!

I love tiramisu, but it has to be the genuine Italian version and not some cheap imitation. The best tiramisu I've ever had was at a restaurant in Florence many years ago. If only the restaurant was in Belfast!!

I have sat here for close to five minutes just either staring at the screen or closing my eyes because it hurts to have them open. I don't remember what I was going to say

It's so good, nick.

I hope you are ok, Jo-Anne. This doesn't sound good.

You are such a chef that I was surprised that people would bring food to you. But it sounds like you had a lovely meal and visit.

Sandra said...

Me, too, Dora.

It was a fun day, Cheerful.

Well, AC, the person who brought the food is an actual chef, so I was happy he brought the food! Thank you for the compliment.

Yum food! My Stepdaughter made our cool meal and it was good! I like it when others cook.
Your house looks beautiful. Such a great gathering!

My laundry is going to have to wait for another few days. Have a wonderful Christmas Eve.

I'm glad you had such a good time. Tiramisu is one of my favorites as well. But those windows, omg I love them.

Merry Christmas!

I can't say I mind when someone else does the cooking, Val. You had a good visit with family.

Sandra said...

Tiramisu is like a slice of heaven, Pixie. I have to say I like those windows, too!

We are in agreement on liking tiramisu and that's the dessert that hopefully our family guests will be bringing when they come here for Christmas dinner. If not, out they go...just kidding. Sending best wishes to you and Mark for a lovely and restful Christmas and all the best for 2025 for us all. A day of rest is what I am planning for Dec 26.

If your guests know the consequences they will bring tiramisu for sure! I hope the same for both of you, Dorothy.

Thanks, Ivy. I wish you a merry Christmas.
