Slow and Steady

It's a crisp, sunny morning in my part of Minnesota. A balmy 31 F, we are about ten degrees above normal. It's been a mild November so far. Other than some puttering around, I have nothing planned for the day. Tomorrow I have chandelier duty scheduled. Mark has plans outside today and I think it's a good idea to have him in the house in case I've fallen and I can't get up.

Mark is the cat man. This photo is Gatto.

This fine fellow is Tabby, aka, Crabby Tabby.

Since it's become colder Tabs is spending more time inside. Blackie McCool is an almost full time house cat during the winter, Tabby not as much. Gatto likes to annoy Tabs. He leaves McCool alone.

Comfort

Comfort food is once again on the menu. I made a beef ragu for dinner. There's enough for two more meals, happy days! Pappardelle is under all that slow simmered goodness.

I suppose I should start my day. Who am I kidding?

Great peaceful kitty pictures. It's a good idea to have a catcher available when you start climbing up to the chandelier.

26 with wind here this morning. That ragu looks fabulous!

I think so, too, Boud. Being in a heap on the floor for hours does not sound like a good plan.

It is good, Lori. A deeply rich sauce.

84 here and I wish it would cool off. Be careful on that ladder and enjoy your day. Great kitty photos.

Chandeliers must be a nightmare to clean. In the old days of course the servants would do it, but nowadays no such luck!

Cats always get cuddlier as the weather gets colder--lol! ;)

That's an whole other world, e! I will be careful. Cats like to pose.

My cats refuse to be servants, so I am stuck with the job, nick!!

You know, you are right, Rita. Frieda normally ignores me.

Oh, look at the old-fashioned quilt. My mother used to knit (crochet?) squares for the missionary group in church.

I see that you have many furry friends! Careful on the ladder!

I have one hanging light and I only stand on a chair to take pieces down to clean. Yikes, that sounds like a big job and I am glad Mark will be inside with you.
I did all outside stuff today. It felt nice in this colder weather.
Meow! Your cats are like Charlie. He loves laps and cuddles on blankets too!

Yum. I really do need a cook! LOL!

Like the granny square quilt.

Kitties and comfort food. Perfect for a November day.

AC, it's crochet and my grandma made it for me over 60 years ago. It's called a granny square afghan, appropriate since my granny made it.

They think they are super models, Jo-Anne.

Many, many, Far Side. I will be careful.

I don't think I could reach well enough with a chair and I would for sure tumble over! I have terrible balance, Val. Partially from the brain injury and partially from age.
Don't tell the cats, but Charlie is cuter. You don't need a cook, you make lasagna.

Thanks, Dora. My granny made it.

It is, Miss Merry.

I just got back into crochet now that I have a yarn that doesn't give me a rash. I spy the granny square in your photo. Did you make that?

Sandra said...

No, I didn't make it, Ivy. My grandma did. Over 60 years ago. I don't crochet.
