For those unfamiliar with dressage and those who are familiar.

Wow! I have seen just a smidgen of this kind of display (videos) before, but watching this whole performance...well, I was surprised it brought a tear to my eye. Wasn't expecting that. Wow! :)

This is a very talented and athletic horse. The closest thing I ever had to this experience was riding my half Arab mare...when she was not happy, she would literally canter in place and then do it sideways in one direction or another.
I am always in awe of these animals.

Beautiful. I remember when I first saw dressage, I thought how beautiful it was.

That depends, Boud. Depends a lot on the trainer/rider. This horse is relaxed, so I would say it likes its job. I had a horse working Grand Prix who was a talent and a firebrand. He found his place in upper level dressage. all disciplines can be good or not good. It depends on the people involved.

A well trained horse with the talent and the right person is a beautiful thing to behold, Rita. Sandra

My upper level Arabian gelding could canter backwards. We found that out when he decided he didn’t like whatever the trainer was doing and back he went, a a canter!! Opinionated, Val. Sandra

I've seen so many Videos on my FB feed lately that have Animals just Joyfully doing things you wouldn't expect them to do, or they were perhaps trained to do and choose to do on their own when they're not even prompted to do it. Okay, one of my favs was a naughty Cat that liked to knock things off Tables and such. So, the Owner bought a Plush Cat and a Fly Swatter and anytime his Fur Baby was toying with him and threatening to knock something off the Table {and they DO like you to SEE them about to do it and doing it, the Rascals}, he hauled out Fake Kitty, had it do the naughty Deed, and gave it a Spanking. Well, the Real Cat then moved the item back in place and I thought that was hilarious! They are all much smarter than we give them Credit for, the whole Animal Kingdom.

Oh yes they are, Dawn! My two furniture scratchers look over there should to see if I watching them. Then they proceed! I had a Lippizaner cross who did dressage moves on his own often. His favorite was airs above ground, which was also his registered name.
