Does not every well appointed house have a palm perched on a paint can?
It didn't work.
Gatto is obsessed. Stretched as far as he could and grabbed a frond. I moved the plant. He spent time scouting the situation and then just made a leap from the floor, nearly toppling everything. Onto plan C. He had a taste of palm frond and he wants more.

Surrender, Sandra! He has nothing else to think about.
Boud, I haven't given up yet, being outwitted by a fancy tail cat is humiliating! He wears some tight naughty pants.
I can see it is a challenge for both you and the cat! :) Mouse traps along the edge of that table or maybe on the edge of the pot!:)
Oh what an idea Far Side had! LOL! Keeps my little dog away from things he thought he should chew on...just hearing them snap scared him ...
:-O
Far Side, I can see the disaster already!
Val, nothing scares him and if it does he's very over reactive. I have to outwit him!
Bloody cats. Our cat won't leave plants like that alone either. I've gone to mainly fiscus varieties because she'll leave those alone. Good luck and let us know what works
Pixie, why in my elder years did I get a cat like him! The palm is the only one he is interested in. Jerk.
Poor you and poor Gatto! I hope the tree survives,
e, poor us! The problem has been resolved. At least for now!
