A low comedian, in my opinion, is low-brow. Like an old one, Don Rickles, or what Howie Mandel used to be. Gutter humor. Makes you laugh but has no real value and goes to the lowest denominator.
H. L. Mencken had a very sharp tongue and a very quick mind, therefore he is a personal favorite of mine!
