Good Morning
It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood, sunshine and mild temperature. Perfect for the outdoor labor Mark is doing. Finally removing the falling down outdoor arena fence. Yippee!! I can hardly believe it.
On other news......really, there is no other news. Life is stumbling along, I am still doing well. My big plan for the day is to tackle the broom closet. How does something like that become such a mess? Because a-place-for-everything-and-everything-in-its-place has not been happening. Mystery solved.
I am going to start practice driving. Because of the very limited mobility I've had for three years I have not driven a vehicle. At all. I needed to be dropped off at the door for appointments, which is about the only places I went, because I wasn't able to walk from a lot to the building. It is time to regain independence. Also, Mark has a procedure in the middle of May that will entail my driving him home. On a freeway. The things which happen to us that we would not think would. That's poor sentence structure!
I will leave you with last evenings dinner. Sometimes the simplest things in life are the sweetest.

You must feel like you have a new lease on life. I'm so happy for you:)
I have been dropped off at the door for all my clinic and hospital appointments for over two years (at times needed a wheelchair) and never went anywhere else except for the very few times I visited at McFamily's house. Can totally relate to needing to build up strength to getting back to normal things...like walking and standing--lol! Or pressing car pedals, for you. I hear you, lady! I've been building up to sitting in a straight backed chair for a few hours--whoohoo!! Simple things can be the sweetest. Absolutely! You go, girl! *love and hugs from Fargo*
The dinner looks good to me.
Rita, I'm trying! Severe chronic pain makes so many normal things impossible, doesn't it. Walking and standing is still a bit of a challenge, but getting there. Fortunately I can sit in a straight back chair...fingers crossed!
AC, the best part is it took the time it takes for pasta to cook. Roasted tomatoes taken out of the freezer.
Pixie, you went to spam. I do feel that way. If this is the best I get I can live with it. I'm about 60% functional, which is up nearly 60%! Weird that I'm nervous about driving, but it has been almost 3.5 years. Makes a difference.
Good luck resuming driving. When you haven't driven for a while, it can be a bit scary getting back in the driving seat. But I'm sure it won't take long to get the hang of it again.
Dinner looks lovely. Yes, you need to build up driving confidence as well as physical stamina. It will return.
It sounds like you're making the most of a beautiful day with outdoor projects and plans for tackling indoor organization! It's amazing how quickly a space can become cluttered, but it's always satisfying to reclaim some order. And congratulations on taking steps towards regaining your independence by starting practice driving again. It's a big milestone, and I'm sure you'll do great! Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way, but it's inspiring to see you facing them head-on. Wishing you all the best with your driving practice and Mark's upcoming procedure!
New blog post.
I would be more than happy to have dinner at your house....any time! So glad to hear that you are still on a roll and ready to start driving. Life changing! You can do this! Mark is such a doll! Taking down fencing is not my favorite job.
I love that you're gonna get back to driving. Where will you go first? Simple meals are the best. Yours look great.
nick, it is scary. The idea of being on the interstate does not thrill me. I have to do it, though.
Boud, indeed I do. I have a pedal machine I use everyday for leg strengthening and cardio. I do stretching exercises. It seem to help. Driving, something that was second nature now looms like a dark cloud. You know how good the simple meal can be.
Hubby hasn't driven since 2017 but he has no ability to concentrate on driving so it isn't a huge issue.
I sure hope driving comes back quickly to you. After all, you did it for years and it should feel great once you do it.
Yummy meals!
I'm sure trying, Lori! Mark started on the fence 2 years ago but time got away from him. He got all the growth out of it, now he can start taking the fence apart. You would be so welcome to come for dinner.
Ivy, I am going to the pharmacy either today or tomorrow. It's about 15 minutes away. Exciting!
Welcome, Melody! Life does throw curve balls. I found your comment in spam. That happens a lot. We have lots of projects waiting for us, hopefully I can be of some help.
Val, I hope it's not too intimidating for me. I'm sort of building it up in my mind, which is not the best thing do. Today or tomorrow will be my first attempt.
I feel you on the mobility issues, the pain. I too stopped driving some years ago. I applaud your decision to reclaim that skill. This being NYC, I’ve been simply taking Ubers. Not ideal for the pocket.
Sandra, I know exactly how you feel about getting in a car and driving again. Even though I do not thankfully have mobility issues, I walk nearly everywhere in nashua, NH. I do have a car (2007 Jeep) which is parked in the underground garage here. But driving th toe library and oaying for parking, the CVS or a medical office, where parking is always a hassle, is actually much more stressful then simply walking to these places. At the most it takes from 8 to 20 minutes. The upside is that I can get a great deal of my walking steps in for the day. That said, good luck to you, my blog friend, and do let us know how the drive goes.
By the way, we really ❤️ simple dinners and especially ones with leftovers!
