How to spend a cold winter night.
We got a couple of inches of snow. It's so much nicer to see the white ground instead of the dreary brown. We had a visit with Neighbor Bill yesterday. He comes here to talk about the state of our Union. As I have said, we live in a very RED community, leaving very few options for the other-minded. Anger is brewing.
The stray orange kitty is still here. I saw him go through the small opening I had cut into the hayloft door years ago for cats. The cat is fed and sheltered. I hoped he was living in there and it seems he is. Gatto and Frieda stare at him through the glass kitchen door as he eats, entranced.
It's about time for me to get moving. I'll see what mischief I can get into.
Enjoy your Saturday.

I'm wondering if your neighbor is having buyer's remorse.
So happy the little red cat has figured out a warm, fed life. I think horses like cats. Maybe they invited him in. I used to know a horse who couldn't settle at night without his kitty curled up on his back. A feline heating pad.
Your home is so inviting. What a wonderful spot for a Saturday.
There are very few to talk to up here, either. (Not that I have socialized since covid and cancer--lol!)
Orange Kitty should have a real name...it's too close to Orange Man--lol! ;) Glad to know he's warm in the hayloft and eating your regular meals for him. :)
Your Home is always so Welcoming, Cozy and Editorial, that Photo just lures me in!!! Glad the Stray has found a Welcome in your Barn. And also Glad your Neighbor Bill is someone like minded to discuss the State of the Union with. So, Anger is brewing huh, Imagine that! I ran into an Old Friend Yesterday who was MAGA and now isn't, he initiated the conversation and surprised me with his turnaround, but I'm glad, coz I truly like him as a Friend and relieved he finally saw the Long Con for what it is and that he was a Mark for it. We don't see Eye to Eye on a lot of things, but I don't think he ever was an Extremist and now realizes we're all fucked and have been thoroughly Played, he apologized to me for how it now is. I do expect a lot of Buyer's Remorse from the Other-Minded, no matter Why they were willing to embrace that vile Orange Hot Mess of a Human, I will never understand completely, it's beyond my comprehension and probably always will be. People can be very hard to Read sometimes and frankly, for some of the Other-Minded I wouldn't wanna even visit their Head Space, let alone live in it or let them live Rent Free in mine.
Nice that the orange kitty has a warm place and food! Your spot in the living room looks warm and cozy:)
Mischief sounds like fun, lol! I'm glad that orange kitty is being taken care of, she has a very kind benefactor :) Nice to visit with neighbors but must be difficult considering. We have friends in Bill's camp too. Wishing you peace today, anger gives them the power. I know, if we ever meet you could give me a kick. It's something I heard from hubs and at the time I rolled my eyes, did not give him a kick, lol! However, I've been thinking about that sentence lately. So difficult to put into practice. And enough of me harping on. Have a wonderful day Sandra.
Almost forgot to say how beautifully inviting your home is. Gorgeous photo!
On thinking about it, is Bill in your camp or the others? I kind of read it at first as the others but may have been wrong. Now I really am out of here :)
My neighbor's family goes back generations here. He grew up right here, where he lives now. Most of his family are republicans. Not his wife, but siblings and at least one daughter. The barn cats live in an empty horse stall. This stray is living in the dive-in hay loft. Lots of hay and warm cubbies in there. Horses and cats do get along well.Very cut, a feline heating pad. ❤️
Leo like this small room, Miss Merry. It is cozy and comforting.
I don't know how I got Leo! I do like. Maybe Leo does, too.
The same here. Rita. Covid sort of shut me down. I'll try to come up with a name, maybe Marmalade. I'm so original!
There is something about the glow of lamps and a fire that sooth us,Dawn. Figuring this out is more than I can do. Indoctrination is all I can figure. When you live in a globe, the world outside of it seems very distorted. You don't realize it's you that are distorted. They are living in that globe.
Yes, kitty is fed and able to keep warm. That is my favorite room in the house, Far Side.
Bill is not MAGA. He is a Democrat and has found refuge with us. I often am not clear, Denise!
Snow being prettier than brown is why I don't mind being snow-covered for four months or so.
It's infuriating when you live in an area that's solidly not the political party you support and your preference counts for nothing. Unfortunately that's the situation for millions of Brits.
At least you have someone to talk to. That sometimes helps. I’m curious if enough people will have buyer’s remorse and put pressure on their representatives. My sister is thrilled about Trump, getting rid of all that corruption. I did point out Musk had made $125 billion since the election. She just laughed. I don’t talk politics with her.
I had an orange cat and his name was Orange Marmalade! Great minds. You already know how much I love the feel of your home. I have moved away from a couple of my friends who love RFK, Tulsi and a few others. I can't keep my mouth shut when it comes to what is going on in our country. I'm in the fight and am pulling for the judges to do their jobs and stick up for the constitution. Musk is robbing our country at the expense of thousands of people who are losing their jobs.
PS....I love what Bohemian said!
A fireplace, comfy throw and a contented cat and yourself, so who needs anything more?
Anger is appropriate if it spurs action. That said, when I had horse boarders I would often repeat to myself "she who loses her temper loses the argument" . It was my mantra, Denise!
I agree with you, AC.
This area has always been republican. The John Birch Society had a chapter here. I didn't know that when we moved here, nick.
They live in a bubble of Fox, podcasts, social media sites. They don't hear what is actually happening and when they do they know it's lies. It's useless to discuss any of it, Cheerful.
Now it's settled, Lori. Marmalade it is! I don't interact with people in my community very much. I tried at one time. It's a closed community. I will always be an outsider. Fortunately I had my business and my friends I made through the industry. Now.....it's much less. You don't need a Ph.D in economics to know this is going to crash our economy. If ours goes, so goes the world
Dawn does not mince words, Lori!!
Not me, Dorothy.
Just dropped by to say Hi and that image of a fire and a warm blanket is so lovely
Hi, Jo-Anne. It felt pretty good on a cold evening.
I love your cozy warm space. Perfect for crocheting, reading, writing, drawing, sipping tea, just about anything. Love that!
It is a very cozy space, Ivy.
