Wonderland

What I awoke to this morning.

Beautiful snow scene all around us. It's hovering around freezing so the snow sticks to where it lands. This is one reason I like winter, it's beautiful. Sometimes in a soft way such as this. Sometimes in stark, raw wonder. I will never be a snowbird.

Today I make bread. Spelt. It's been awhile since I have used that ancient grain. I wonder why? I also used einkorn, it makes wonderful bread. It's also quite expensive. Probably even worse now. Bread is one of the wonders of the world to me. Flour, salt, yeast, water. How is this so good? Man may not be able to live on bread alone, but this woman could.

Snow makes life harder but it almost makes up for it with it's beauty.

Lovely snow pictures. I like it best in pictures. My Mom, who was a great bread baker, used to bring out a loaf, saying The Staff of Life!

Pixie, 😄 I am a winter person. Maybe because I'm a Capricorn. Certainly not because of genetics, no Norsk in me, just by association!

Boud, you'd like the winter scene right now. We are having a snow globe snowfall. Your mom was so right, that's what proper bread is, The Staff of Life.

I was going to leave a comment much earlier, but I decided to go out and play.

I do love a good snow when it is fresh and fabulous to enjoy.

Even my neighbor called to see if we could go for a walk to look at the beautiful trees and fields.

Ohhh! Did you get to plow the driveway?

I have a feeling that your weather is on the way to Brockport. Beautiful photos. I wish I could make myself get into the break making mode.

Looks similar to ours! :)

Val, comments can be made anytime. Going out to play has a timeline. You did right! No plowing, it snowed all day. It was about 33 F all day so there was melting.

I have read the east coast is in for it, so I think our weather is coming your way and maybe then some, Lori.
There are bread bakers and there are not bread bakers. I make boring salads. You do not.

Far Side, you got a lot more!

What a beautiful series of scenes, Sandra, and yeah to bread making too. I agree that there is nothing better in a wintry, or any other day, Nd so now you have me thinking about making a loaf with a pot of soup. Snow is lightly falling this morning in Nashua, NH.

Awww thanks !

We did play and I already got a text asking if I can come out to play later today.

Haha!
I'm so lucky!

Beatrice, awoke to the same scene this morning. It's a wet snow. We may have the rest of the beef stew with the bread at lunch, it is a good day for that. I hope you make your bread and soup. Doing the making and then the eating is good for the soul!

Val, get all the play you can get!
