Merriment My Way

It happened.
I turned into a cat lady.

One more year has passed. I turn a year older next month. I'm officially a Cat Lady. What has happened to my life? Life has happened to my life. We go to the son's house tomorrow for lunch. It will be a nice break from these four walls and it's always a pleasure having someone cook for you. It will likely be my birthday celebration. I don't do resolutions. I don't think I have ever kept a resolution when I did make them.  We can disappoint ourselves easily enough, why ask for trouble? Or so say I.

I plan to make a pizza for our News Years Eve celebration. Prosecco and pizza, perfecto! Anyone have plans? I think after about thirty-ish a night on the town loses it's allure. At least it did for me. A fire, pizza, music and some sparkles, right up my alley.

See you next year.

A pizza sounds like an excellent idea.

There's nothing wrong with being a cat lady. Hope you and Mark have a nice evening and best wishes for the New Year.

Thank you, Pixie. Cats are easier than dogs!

I wish you a contented and healthy 2023.

A birthday next month makes you a Capricorn? Happy Birthday!

I'm definitely a stay home and ignore the new year kind of person. I did make resolutions when I was a kid, my mom was big on it, she always got really excited as the new year approached. I never questioned traditions until I married an not-so-traditional guy. That was 42 years ago and I've slipped more and more into independent thinking. Ha... eventually no one will believe I'm even related to my folks.

Eric is making a stir fry for dinner tomorrow. Not sure if I will partake or do something else.

We'll be in bed by 10.

I told all 'my' kids when they were picked up the Friday before Christmas that I would see them next year. That joke never gets old with them.

Yes, I'm Capricorn. An old goat! Thank you, I cannot believe I'm this old until I look in the mirror. : )

Ami, stir fry is good. I'll be in bed around 10:00, also. I am the not-so-traditional one Mark married. Much to his family's dismay!

It doesn't get old for me either, I pull out see you next year myself. I think I'm funny!

A cat lady...I think you need more than a few cats to qualify!

Going to a jam session with some other musicians. Always a good time.

Sandra said...

Ha, Far Side! I do have 6, 3 in 3 out.

Sandra said...

Lori, I know that will be fun! Probably not an early night for you.

At getting on for 70 the night on the town has to happen at home for me LOL But I tell myself that I will be 40 and it helps.

My night on the town was at home, too, Marlane!

New Year's Eve at my Danish sister-in-laws, together with her and her husband and Husband's eldest and her partner and their baby. Alas Husband was hit by his inability to process carbs and spent the whole evening sick as a dog. The food and cocktails we made were glorious, but husband being sick put a bit of a damper on the evening. I think New Year's Eve is overrated and next year, I'm going to insist on being home and not making a big deal out of it. Pizza and prosecco sounds perfect.

Those all sounded like wonderful plans to me Sandra. I enjoyed Prosecco minus a pizza.

julochka, I did not know he can't process carbs. That would be horrible. It was a splendid way to spend the evening.

Beatrice, it was a good day. Prosecco it enjoyable on its own!
