I have said I was referred to neurology. I got a text to contact them to make an appointment. So I do. I'm told the earliest appointment I can get is the end of April. Yes, April. I was dumbfounded for a second, then said perhaps I could be dead by April. She apologized, I told her I knew it wasn't her fault, but REALLY? Yes, really. I didn't make the appointment. I sent a message to the doctor and I'll wait to see what I should do. I'm discouraged.
On the other hand.....the pellet stove is working. I started it yesterday morning and it has continued to run. Hurrah! It's four degrees warmer in that room than what I have the thermostat set at. After finding I can't get into the specialist I was moaning and groaning. Mark told me look at the bright side. What bright side? We have a new furnace, a working pellet stove, a fireplace with a blower and more wood than we and Bill can use. All we are missing is the message from god.

Might I suggest you make the appointment just to establish yourself and probably get forms to fill out. Then call or text weekly in case of cancellation? These are the thoughts of patient's advocate who has done this. Be a hell of a nuisance. It might work. I know how discouraging it is, yes.
I thought about it and you are right. I was simply disgusted and I am not the most patient person on this earth, Boud! It's hard for me to comprehend.
Ouch on that. But Boud was kind of right. Make the appointment and ask if you can be put on a cancellation list?
It IS frustrating!
I sure hope you can get in sooner.
:(
Punching dough, may just be a great way to deal with frustration.
I agree. Ridiculous.
Val, I agree Boud is right. I'll make the appt on Monday and then see if I can find an appt somewhere else sooner. I ended up not punching dough yesterday, I was too pouty. :)
Ridiculous is the word, Lori.
It seems you would have to be near death in order to get an earlier appointment, Sandra, and how discouraging to think. But, then Mark did make some good points and so best to look at the fact that you are warm and going to make bread and that the pellet stove is working too!
What I find so sad and frustrating is that everybody knows about the baby boom after the war and knows what a large cohort it is and still didn't bother to upgrade anything for what seniors will need, for the largest cohort.
I hope you get on a cancellation list! I know that one time I got an appointment way early because I ticked the little box in My Chart to be notified of cancellations...worth a try...or a different location...some times those specialists go to outlying Clinics and can be seen there easier than in their main clinic.
