Presents to Ashley and Christie on my Birthday

I was having difficulty with Ashley. I wanted something that represented her as I see her. Then I came upon this sentence:  The unicorn is the only fabulous beast that does not seem to have been conceived out of human fears. In even the earliest references he is fierce yet good, selfless yet solitary, but always mysteriously beautiful. The rest was easy! A little Portuguese and voila! Ashley's personal award.
Christy was easy. She is a mother whom home schools her own as well as some other children. She is cheerful and luckily possesses a sense of humor. My take is she is either off her rocker or she is an angel. I decided it is the latter. This is Christy's personal blog award.

I think giving presents on my birthday is the most fun ever!

I am sincerely touched, and my husband chuckled, okay he totally laughed out loud, when he read the "off her rocker" part...
he's just beginning to notice my angelic qualities...:)
you are very sweet to give a present to someone who hasn't even wished you a happy birthday yet!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and thanks so much.

Oh Sandra thank you so much! Like Christy, I am sincerely touched and humbled by your thoughtful and
beautiful gift. Sienna is beside herself. You know I think of that same exact color when I think of her. You have made a real and lasting impression on me and I will never look at unicorns the same way again!!!
: ) : )

Thanks again, really,

Ash

p.s.

The portuguese was perfect!!!!

You know in Brazil most hard or hard-ish consonants that fall at the the end of a word are pronounced with a long eee sound. Brazilians claim that they don't really hear it but they claim that Americans add a short u to the end of hard consonants. I don't really hear the short until I think about it. Anyway! the point being that when I see "Muito Bom Blog" I hear it in a brazillian voice and it goes, "Muito Bom Bloggy" : ) : ) :) : )

It totally makes me smile!

Ash

Other funny examples: These are english words that have been adopted into the Brazilian vernacular. They are pronounced like this.

Lap top = Loppy Toppy

Picnic - Peecky Neecky

You can bet these words have snuck into our English at home. They are so fun to say : )

Sandra, all I can say is WOW. What a lovely way to honor three wonderful bloggers. Your awards were beautiful and so lovingly presented with thoughtful and encouraging words.

You are welcome. I had fun doing this and it was a pleasant way to spend the day, part of it anyway. Ganeida got me going by giving me that very pretty award. The fun part is trying to do something that reflects what you have picked up about the fellow blogger. I know Ganeida didn't make the award, but I have a tea cup collection and I grow roses. How appropriate!

I glad you liked them.
