I couldn't get an office visit with the doctor until 1/8. I made the appointment and then this morning I checked for video appointments and I made one for Thursday. I guess they prefer video to in-person. I have kept the office appointment incase I need a follow up. This is all I can do for now. She's getting tired of me, I think. The feeling is mutual.
I made chicken stock a couple of days ago and brought the vegetables I'd roasted and froze for eggplant soup up to thaw. It will be eggplant soup for lunch! It is soooo good. I got my Aldi order picked up yesterday so the refrigerator is full. I bought apples, as I'd told Mark I would make him an apple galette in lieu of a pie. It's easier and I'm all about easier right now.
Mark has an appointment on Friday for a procedure to prepare for radiation. He's anxious, well more anxious than usual. This has become the old person medical problems news letter. How did this happen? 🤷
Because it cannot be all about the troubles, a winterscape from a few years ago. Those are mares in the background. Val, I used to wander about taking photos. Not trekking through woods, but out in the snow! I like photographing winter.
Now, time to tally-ho and away I go to do the laundry I forgot about yesterday. Toodles.

I guess video is better than nothing. But I avoid them because my doctor can see much better in person how I'm doing. She feels the aortic thing in my neck, etc, just better information. But at least you get to emphasize your plight to your doctor. Pressure on her to find solutions is good.
Boud, that's what I thought. I want a referral to endocrinology and didn't want to wait until 1/8. That's all I'm looking for unless she has some tests she wants to do. If it's like everything else it will take months for an appt with an endo.
If you can, see an endocrinologist. They know the right tests to do and how to read them. Hoping this all works out soon. The good news is, if it's thyroid issues, it can be readily fixed. Keeping faith with you that you get answers soon.
I agree, paddington. I need some action and that seems the place to start. Thank you.
How did I miss yesterday's post? It seems like every doctor's office is overloaded and making appointments way too far out. A friend went through the Cleveland Clinic (similar to Mayo) deal with several problems she was having and it took months to get an appointment. Almost a year later and she is still communicating with them about tests and does not have a definitive answer as to what is going on with her body. Sorry to hear about your hair loss, but I too think it is a major clue. Hope you get some action sooner than later.
I hope you get some sense of direction on Thursday.
First off, Love that shot through the trees. I was out wandering in the fog this morning.
Doggonit on seeing a doctor. I don't know if things have changed in the medical field with the onslaught of the season of flu -- RSV? My endo referral was a 2 month or so wait. Although I'd already had the answers to my questions long before then.
You actually might be able to request a full panel test. The doctor should order one to figure out what is wrong, right?
It is a common order to diagnose a medical condition and is generally covered by Medicare if you are on that.
To be honest, I like phone visits the best, saves me a couple of hours. It doesn't matter if your doctor is tired of you, you need medical care. What's going on is not normal.
Lori, thanks. It's been going on too long and I am getting worse. I'm sorry you friend is also on the hamster wheel.
Thank you, Far Side.
Val, that shot made me think of you!
I am going to ask for the full panel. I've seen this dr 5 times in 6 months and her I am. Makes no sense. If I finally get some answers I think I will be asking her for answers.
Pixie, I do video visits and prefer that, but I thought I might get farther going in person. I'm really fed up, but I need to stay calm. You know drs.
The Old Person Medical Issues Newsletter happens to the best of us, alas. I hope the Anxieties lessen, but Radiation just sounds like something difficult to get thru no matter how Positive your outlook about it's benefits. I do hope the Treatments are successful and show improvements. I like looking at Photographs of Winter, but have no desire to return to any of it in Person, I am acclimated to the Desert... if I even get Frost on my Windshield I think it's too Cold already. *LOL*
Radiation just sounds bad, doesn't it, Dawn!
I am one of the few who likes winter, I really don't like hot weather. We both live were it suits us. :)
