Yes, It Comes Down to Fennel

Chicken and dumpling soup for lunch.

I nearly gave myself frostbite by peeling partially frozen tomatoes.

After a long dry spell Misfits Market finally had fennel in stock. They have the best price by a lot, so I've been hoping to see it on the site. I ended up spending more money than I intended so I could have fennel. I had to go to the cold pack to get enough for them to ship. My friend, Boud, knows what I'm talking about. It's ok, everything I got I may not have needed but will certainly use. A chicken roasted with fennel is in my future.

I think I'll light a fire in the snug, settle in with my book and forget about all the work piled up waiting for my attention. I'm the only one who notices. Mark, Keetah, Jiggy, Frieda and now Gatto, do not care. As long as they all get food, they are happy. Not a bad way to be. Ciao

At last. I just shopped there under the new set-up, no minimum on cold pack, but I'm guessing I spent the minimum anyway! But, no eggs! Oh well.

Your chicken etc sounds good.

I have never cooked with fennel:)

I haven't cooked with fennel either.

I did get eggs this week from my neighbor who has chickens! $2 a dozen, she won't take more!
I'd pay more for her eggs though.

Boud, I was able to get eggs. It can be frustrating, but still, I go there.

Far Side, fennel is used in Mediterranean cooking. If you haven't been exposed to that kind of food you likely wouldn't know what it is or how to use it. It is good!

Val, it is a flavor similar to tarragon. I like roasting chicken over sliced fennel and onion. So good!

$2 eggs, you hit the jackpot!!

I Wish I could Not Care or Notice like the rest of my Family here... it is not a bad way to be, for sure. Your Chicken roasted with Fennel sounds Divine, I'm fortunate they almost always have product like that at some of the Specialty Grocers around here. Now, it's just Eggs that are in short supply and crazy expensive when yo u can find them.

Dawn, Mark is for the most part oblivious to his surroundings, which is working well with my current health problems! I can find fennel in the grocers but it’s expensive. I get it from Misfits for much less money. If they deliver to AZ they sell eggs for a lot less than the local stores.

What's not to like about chicken soup and even better with dumplings added? Too bad about the cold fingers but sure the discomfort was worth the results (hopefully). Your plan to light a fire and fread sound perfect to me...again, what's NOT to love about that?

Not a thing, Beatrice!
